A Celebration of Comets

During the annual Celebration of Support in October, Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas was illuminated to commemorate the University’s 50th anniversary.

Ty Bledsoe (third from left), assistant vice president for external affairs at AT&T Inc. and UT Dallas Executive Board member, presented a $75,000 check from the AT&T Foundation to support UT Dallas’ Academic Bridge and Future Comets programs. At the 2019 Celebration of Support, Mike Brodie BS’76, chair of the UT Dallas Executive Board, thanked supporters and reminded those gathered of the many ways the University makes a difference in the community through education, entrepreneurial innovation and clinical care.

The University of Texas at Dallas honored 12 faculty members during the spring Investiture Ceremony. Dr. Özalp Özer (left), the first George and Fonsa Brody Professor in Management, celebrated at the reception with the Brodys.

Anne H. Chow, CEO of AT&T Business, delivered the keynote address at the 2019 Corporate Day on Campus, attended by more than 150 representatives from area companies.

Alumni and friends volunteered at the North Texas Food Bank during the University’s annual Alumni Day of Service.

Callier Center Executive Director Tom Campbell (right) presented the Ruth and Ken Altshuler Callier Care Award to Brent Christopher, president of Children’s Medical Center Foundation, during the annual Callier Cares Luncheon. Christopher was recognized for his contributions to the community and advocacy for patients with communications disorders.

Dr. Milind Dawande (left) was honored with a new professorship made possible by Mike Redeker MBA’97, MA’01. Dawande is the first Mike Redeker Distinguished Professor in Management.

UT Dallas President Richard C. Benson and alumni Nancy and Chuck Davidson cut the ribbon to officially open the new alumni center as UT System, University and city of Richardson leadership looked on.
