A University with Roots in Philanthropy
The history of UT Dallas can be written as the story of incredible acts of generosity. Beginning with our founders’ dream to create an institution of lasting benefit to the North Texas region and their original gift of land that still provides our University’s home today, each major development at UT Dallas has been guided by individuals and corporations who identify with our mission to become a world class research university.
At times, our school has been indebted to singular individuals, like the late Margaret McDermott, who spurred transformative change to make our campus more beautiful and more accessible to talented and deserving students.
More often, UT Dallas relies on the commitment of our entire community to impact the lives of students, support the endeavors of our faculty and enhance the difference we make through education and innovation.
The Office of Development and Alumni Relations works to foster unity among all those affiliated with UT Dallas. We are proud of the accomplishments of our alumni, students, faculty and friends, and seek to share their stories with the world. In doing so, we hope to inspire the continued engagement of every Comet and maintain the culture of philanthropy that has enabled our rapid emergence as one of the great universities in Texas and the nation.
As we look beyond our first 50 years to the next stage in UT Dallas’ history, the generosity of our supporters will be more important than ever. We hope that you will join us in building a brighter future for UT Dallas and all those whose lives are changed by the opportunities, discoveries and inventions created on our campus.
