To some, “place” is simply a geographic location. To others, it is a feeling unrelated to venue, referring to something special that fosters a sense of attachment and belonging. At UT Dallas, place is a beautiful location, but it also is at the heart of a new era unfolding at the University.

 

Phase I of the Campus Landscape Enhancement project was completed in 2010 with a $30 million transformation of the south mall. Phase II of landscape architect Peter Walker’s campus enhancement plan expanded north from the McDermott Library to the Administration Building. Completed in 2015, the $15 million renovation of the north end of campus incorporated more green spaces, such as lawn terraces and elm groves, for a more park-like environment.

 

These profound transformations of place have been made possible by generous philanthropic support and include matchless elements that, like the University, will
continue to grow through the years.

 

It is a new era at UT Dallas, and this place is unlike any other ever experienced.
