COVID-19 Temporary Advising Procedures
We want to provide you an update on how the EPPS Advising Team is addressing the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19). As always, the health and safety of our students and university community is our top priority. We anticipate that events will continue to evolve and change due to the national and local updates related to the spread of COVID-19.
It is very important that you continue to monitor your UTD email account so you are aware of timely updates from your EPPS advisors, EPPS leadership, and the President and Provost’s offices. Additional useful information may be found at: https://www.utdallas.edu/coronavirus/students/.
You can make appointments with your advisors on Bookings and/or via email. To make remote appointments easier for us all, we are now trained in Microsoft Teams.
Once you have scheduled a time in Bookings, we have the ability to send you a Microsoft Team appointment via your UTD email that will include a hyperlink for video chat OR you can call in via the phone number and the conference ID number provided in that email. This provides us a secure and FERPA-compliant method to communicate with you.
The preferred method for communication is via Microsoft Teams (phone or video chat).
Phone calls are not recommended right now due to the high level of web traffic and the need to communicate via email or video chat.
If you have no internet and the ability to communicate in any other format, please call and leave your advisor a message.
We know this is a stressful time for you all and we are working hard to meet your needs. Please be patient, communicate via email or on Bookings and know that we will get through this together. Please watch your emails carefully and read them as they come in from your advisors and leaders in EPPS and UTD. Stay healthy!
Master’s Degree Advising
Advisors primarily see students on an appointment basis. This will reduce the wait time for you and allow the advisors to prepare for the advising session. Please make an appointment on Bookings.
