Instructions for Flexible Mode Classes

Did you receive an email from the Office of the Registrar about your class changing to Flexible Mode?

No: You do not need to read any further.

Yes: You will need to choose the Flexible Mode secondary lecture for your class schedule. The secondary lecture denotes the day you will attend UT Dallas in-person. To assist with this selection, you were enrolled into a default online lecture.

In Orion, you will edit and choose an in-person class meeting day. Seats are limited; therefore, the quicker you select a day, the better chance you will get your choice.

The deadline to adjust your schedule of classes would follow the Academic Calendar registration and drop/withdrawal dates.

What will the Flexible Mode option look like in your fall 2020 class?

You are pre-enrolled in a secondary lecture of online (LEC 2) to allow you to edit your schedule and choose your preferred in-person class meeting day. Please know that seats are limited.

Instructions for Editing the Secondary Lecture for Flexible Mode:

1. Log in to your Galaxy account.
2. Enter NetID and password.
   
   
3. Once logged in, click Orion Self-Service (Student) link, as shown below.
   
4. Click the Orion Student Center link, as shown below.
   
5. In the UTD Student Center, click the Manage My Classes tile, as shown below.
   
6. In View My Classes, select the 2020 Fall term and Continue.
   
7. Click on Edit.
   
8. Select the class that has changed to the Flexible Mode (information in your email) and click on Proceed to Step 2 of 3.
   
9. Select the Secondary Lecture you want for your in-person meeting time and click Next.
   
10. Verify your selection and click Next.
    
11. Click on Finish Editing.
    

Make sure you get the Success Message status for your class update.

The update is made to your class schedule. Please continue to monitor your UT Dallas email for any additional guidance on your fall 2020 classes.
