Vote for Coworker in Custodian of the Year Contest
Bron Clayton, building services supervisor for Facilities Management, has been named a finalist for a nationwide Custodian of the Year contest sponsored by Cintas Corporation.
He is one of 10 finalists competing for a $10,000 cash prize along with $5,000 in Cintas and Rubbermaid products and services for UT Dallas. The winner’s school also will receive a comprehensive training and development package from ISSA, the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, valued at $20,000.
The contest is open to custodians of educational facilities at all levels and shines a spotlight on those who work behind the scenes and often go unnoticed.
“I can’t imagine anyone more deserving than Bron Clayton. So many of us at UT Dallas can attest to Bron’s willingness to always go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service,” said Gary Cocke, associate director of sustainability and energy conservation.
Clayton has been with UT Dallas for 31 years. Besides supervising custodial workers, he has worked with students from Students for Environmental Awareness to start recycling programs at residence halls and apartments on campus, maintained ESL classes for custodial staff for 15 years, and developed blood-borne pathogen training for custodial staff.
Cast your vote for Bron Clayton by Friday, April 17.
