About TxBDC

The Texas Biomedical Device Center, located in the Bioengineering Science Building at the University of Texas at Dallas, was established in April of 2012 with donations from Texas Instruments and a private donor. In the short time since its creation, the center has published over 100 peer reviewed publications, participated in multiple successful clinical trials for Targeted Plasticity Therapy, spun out 4 new advanced biomedical technologies to manufacturing companies and generated an additional $25 million in funding.

TxBDC develops technologies to prevent injuries, detect impairments, and restore quality of life lost due to neurological injuries and disease. We are committed to the development of affordable and innovative therapies and technologies.

Our teams specialize in Neurological Therapies, and Biomedical Devices and Software to treat neurological injuries and diseases such as Tinnitus, Stroke, PTSD, Chronic Pain, Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Rett Syndrome, Phantom Limb Pain, Spinal Cord Injury, and Peripheral Nerve Injury. TxBDC also partners with clinicians and commercial entities to use our affordable technology to develop and deliver effective solutions for bioelectric medicines.

TxBDC is a collaborative effort engaging researchers from multiple disciplines working toward a common goal: creating new biomedical technology and therapies. This interdisciplinary program includes faculty members from the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science, and the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

Location

We are located on the 4th floor of the Bioengineering Science Building (BSB) on Rutford Avenue between Synergy Park Boulevard and Facilities Way. Our address is 850 N. Loop Rd, Richardson, TX 75080. Hourly Pay-By-Space parking is available in Parking Structure 3 (PS3) and handicapped parking is available in Lot P.
