This year’s Corporate Challenge campaign raised a record $190,000 for Special Olympics.

Billiards: Bronze! The Men’s team won Bronze and the Mixed team won Silver.

Miniature Golf: Women’s Team wins Bronze!

Swimming: Silver! Joshua Ballard finished at 27.87 in the Men’s 50M Freestyle, Greg Metz’s time was 27.92; Valerie Hoops’ finishing time was 27.50 in the Women’s 50M Freestyle, Frances Branham’s time was 38.96; Chris McAlpine finished the Men’s 50M Backstroke with a time of 36.92; Valerie Hoops came in at 32.57 in the Women:s 50M Backstroke.

Ranking for Division B: UTD is currently placed 5th overall.

Golf: Gold!

Table Tennis: Men’s Team takes Gold!

5K Run: Our top three men were Robert Tracy, who finished at 21:12; Alfonso Bellatin, with a time of 21:47; and Brant Butters, who came in at 23:37. Our top three women were Elizabeth Sohns, with a finishing time of 23:23; Ingrid London, with a time of 26:05; and Stacey Rotunno, who came in at 26:33.

Ranking for Division B: UTD is currently placed 6th overall.

15K Bike Race: Gold! Max Miley won with a time of 19:48; Joshua Ballard finished at 21:50; Karen Overton’s time was 27:18; Rebecca Ballard came in at 27:19. Congratulations to the racers on their performances!

Make a donation to Special Olympics in exchange for ice cream! Come by the Plinth on the South Mall by the Student Union (SU) on Thursday, July 31, between 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. for a sweet treat and good cause —and bring your friends!

The Great Ride

Bring your motorcycle to the Corporate Challenge’s Great Ride on Saturday, August 30. This 90-mile group ride begins and ends in Galatyn Plaza. Kickstands go up at 9:30 a.m., and the post-ride festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. Registered riders get donuts at the beginning of the ride and lunch at the end —plus the first 500 get a souvenir.
